AKSU’s Centre for Creative Economy and Cultural Studies Hosts Historic Maiden Cultural Week
Akwa Ibom State University’s Centre for Creative Economy and Cultural Studies (CCECS), in collaboration with NAAKISS, successfully hosted its maiden two-day Cultural Week on August 17–18, 2026, at the Ikot Akpaden campus to celebrate and promote Akwa Ibom’s rich cultural heritage. Highlights of the landmark event included the unveiling of the International Journal of Culture and Creative Economy, the presentation of CCECS’s academic programs—ranging from Certificate to Doctorate levels—and the induction of distinguished patrons into the Centre’s Hall of Fame. Featuring vibrant traditional performances from various Local Government Areas, the event drew top government officials, traditional leaders, and university management, with Vice Chancellor Prof. Otoabasi Akpan officially declaring the AKSU Cultural Week an annual university fixture.
